Anti-Bullying Week

Anti-Bullying Week takes place in November every year in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and is co-ordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. Anti-Bullying Week gives empowers teachers and children to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.

Childnet has produced a resource called ‘Just a joke?’ which includes lesson plans, quick activities, a quiz and teaching guide designed to explore problematic online sexual behaviour with 9-12 year olds. You can access the resource here.

Another resource from Childnet is ‘Crossing the Line’ which is a practical online safety toolkit to support teaching and learning about cyberbullying with an LGBT focus. The resource includes films and lesson plans to explore online issues with pupils aged 11-14 years old. You can access the resource here.

Childnet has also produced a resource called ‘Talk it Over’, a research-led resource designed to support teachers in facilitating empathetic, honest, and evidence-based conversations on online hate and how to tackle it with secondary aged pupils. You can access the resource here.

Kidscape is an anti-bullying charity that offers a helpline for parents and carers of children who are being bullied, between the ages of 5 to 18. The charity runs a range of programmes and services which reduces the impact of bullying and harm on young lives. Kidscape are huge supporters of Anti-bullying Week and have produced a range of resources to support Early Years, Schools, Communities, Parents and Carers.
