Healthy Eating Week

Published: 2025-06-09

Healthy Eating Week is an annual event run by the British Nutrition Foundation to highlight the importance of healthy, active lifestyles. Each year, the British Nutrition Foundation develops free activity packs and resources to help different settings and organisations deliver healthy lifestyle messages through engaging activities.

Where can I read more? To find out more about Healthy Eating Week and to register for free, you can visit the BNF (British Nutrition Foundation) website here.

Links to activities and resources: Once you have registered on the BNF website, you will receive their free, downloadable activity packs and resources for early years, primary and secondary schools.

Another valuable resource related to Healthy Eating Week is Food – a fact of life (FFL). The website gives you access to a comprehensive, progressive education programme which communicates up-to-date, evidence-based, consistent and accurate messages around ‘food’ to all those involved in education. FFL is managed by the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF), in partnership with the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).

The website provides a wealth of free resources for teaching children and young people, aged 3-16 years, about where food comes from, cooking and healthy eating. You can access a wide range of lesson ideas and resources to support teaching and learning about the different aspects of food for children aged 3 – 5 years, 5 – 7 years, 7 – 11 years, 11 – 14 years, 14 – 16 years and pupils with additional needs.
