International Day of Friendship

Published: 2025-07-30

The International Day of Friendship was launched by the UN General Assembly in 2011, with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. The International Day of Friendship takes place on 30th July each year but can be celebrated earlier in the month before schools break up for the summer.
