World Kindness Day/Kindness Day UK

Published: 2024-11-13

World Kindness Day was first launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement, an organisation formed at a 1997 Tokyo conference of kindness organisations around the world. There are currently more than 28 nations involved in The World Kindness Movement. The mission of the World Kindness Movement and World Kindness Day is to create a kinder world by inspiring individuals and nations towards greater kindness. World Kindness Day is celebrated every year on 13th November and on this day, people are encouraged to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organisations. In the UK, Kindness Day UK is organised by Kindness UK and was launched on 13th November 2010. Since then, the event has continued to grow in popularity every year with increasing numbers of individuals, schools, charities, institutions and businesses taking part. Kindness Day UK is a nationally recognised day for the celebration of kindness in society and day to day life. Individual acts of kindness are encouraged on this day every year.
